Join us for a brand new show, where your child will participate in a musical production combining creativity, collaboration and the magic of live performance

What’s it all about?
This isn’t your typical youth music production. We’re creating an original musical theatre production completely tailored to the students who enrol.
That means your child gets to perform in a show that highlights their strengths, fits their personality, and gives them a real voice in the creative process.
From story shaping to show-stopping songs, every child plays a vital role onstage or off. Whether they dream of being in the spotlight or love the magic of what happens behind the scenes, there's a place for them here.
Who can join?
Whether your child is just beginning their musical theatre journey or is a seasoned performer, they are welcome to be part of this exciting production. There are two options participate:
Join the Musical Theatre Troupe where very student will be given a featured role as lead or supporting characters.
Be part of the Ensemble Cast with the opportunity to audition for a small speaking part.
Role opportunities include:

•. Assistant Director or Tech Team (for students who want to experience behind the scenes)

Enrolling in this semester’s Musical Theatre Troupe includes:
Weekly classes and rehearsals with experienced theatre professionals
A script and original music to keep
Costumes and rehearsal materials
Performance at the stunning Mosman Art Gallery
A truly collaborative, community-based theatre experience
Lifelong memories and new friendships
Schedule and Key Dates
Rehearsals begin in Term 3 and continue through Term 4, with the choice of attending either Monday or Saturday classes at the Hummingbird Music studio.
The final performance in December at the Mosman Art Gallery with some additional rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the show.

How to Join
There are no auditions required to enrol, everyone is welcome! Students interested in lead or supporting roles will have a chance to audition during the first few weeks of classes.
Registration Details:
Musical Theatre Troupe: $360 (includes both Term 3 & Term 4)
Ensemble Cast: $99 (Includes both Term 3 & 4)
No additional fees. Hummingbird Music students can request to include registration onto their term lesson account.
Important Dates and Information
Class Dates and Times:
Musical Theatre Troupe:
Choose between attending a full Saturday mid-morning class or a condensed Monday evening class. If you can’t make one of the classes you are welcome to attend the other class that week. They are interchangeable.
Monday Class Times: 6:15pm - 7:15pm
Saturday Class Times: 11:30am - 1:30pm
Term 3 classes commence Monday 28th July or Saturday 26th July
Term 4 classes commence Monday 20th October or Saturday 18th October *
Exceptions: No classes on Saturday 20th September or Monday 6th October
* N.B From November all Monday classes will move to Saturday classes in order to have full cast sessions as per the rehearsal schedule below.
Ensemble Cast:
In addition to the the rehearsal dates below you will attend the following sessions.
Saturday 23rd August (mid morning rehearsal)
Monday 8th September (evening rehearsal)
Thursday 2nd October (School Holiday Rehearsal)
Saturday 1st November (mid morning rehearsal)
Special and Additional Rehearsals:
Full Cast Rehearsal:
• Thursday 2nd October (School Holiday Rehearsal)
• Saturday 8th November
Rehearsals at Mosman Art Gallery:
• Blocking: Sunday 16th November and Saturday 22nd November
• Dress Rehearsal: Thursday 27th Nov (Time TBC)
• Tech Rehearsal: Saturday 29th Nov 9am - 2pm
Performance Date:
We will perform this show on the evening of Thursday 4th December at the Mosman Art Gallery. This is a community event where we encourage you to invite friends and family. Everyone is welcome to attend.

FAQs
Does my child need any experience to join?
Not at all! We welcome all levels of experience. Our program is designed to support and challenge each student where they’re at.
What age do you have to be to enrol?
Any child that feels comfortable in a group environment is welcome to join the ensemble though recommend ages 4 and up. To be considered for a lead or supporting role or to participate in the Musical Theatre Troupe students will need to be school aged (ie 6 and up)
What happens if we can’t make one of the rehearsals?
No problem, we understand that life gets busy. Students should aim to attend all rehearsals, but we can work around occasional absences with notice. Please let us know as soon as you can.
What if my child doesn’t have lessons at Hummingbird Music?
This won’t effect their participation or consideration for a lead in any way. Any child is welcome to be part of the Musical Theatre Troupe or ensemble!
Do parents need to provide anything?
All major materials and most costumes are provided. Parents may be asked to assist with simple items like shoes, base layers or their child’s ensemble cast outfits.
