Welcome to our 2026 Studio Update
As we prepare for an exciting new chapter at Hummingbird Music, we want to keep you informed, supported, and confident during the transition to our new location.
Here you’ll find all the key updates, teacher announcements, and helpful information you need for a smooth start to next year.
We’re incredibly grateful for our wonderful community and can’t wait to share this next stage of growth with you all.
About the move
Where is the new studio located?
We’re moving to Suite 3, 114-116 Cabramatta Rd, Cremorne. We’re right behind the Cremorne Town Centre (where IGA and the Medical Practice is located….opposite the Orpheum)
When will the move take place?
We’ll be moving from 6th December but will have ad hoc lessons in our current studio up until 12th December. The studio will then be closed for renovations from 14th December until 4th January and will be available intermittently via email
Why is the studio moving?
We are growing and have exciting things planned for 2026! We want to provide you with a comfortable music studio, larger reception area, better resources and more options for lessons, ensemble work, recording and performance opportunities.
Lessons and Classes
Will there be any changes to lessons?
As always the start of the new year means that we can flexible with the timetable if you’d like to make changes to your lesson time, but if you’re happy with things the way they are, we can leave things as is. There will be some new and returning staff in the studio as well one teacher heading on maternity leave so please make sure you read below for updates.
New Classes and Opportunities
We are pleased to be introducing bass and drum lessons to our studio in addition to piano, voice, guitar, composition and music production. We will also be introducing a rock band and ensemble program for singers and musicians and well as a series of short courses and workshops. Our Adult Pop Choir will also be bigger and better than ever with an exciting and HUGE show for 2026

Farewell and Welcome
Maternity Leave
We are thrilled to announce that piano and vocal teacher Sarah Belle is expecting her first child in May 2026 and will be taking maternity leave towards the end of Term 1. She will still be teaching in Term 1 but will also be assisting us with student handover during her transition. Please join me in wishing her all the very best.
We are also delighted to welcome back Bek Searle from maternity leave in Term 1. She is looking forward to returning to the studio and working with singers, musicians and songwriters again.
Additions to the Teaching Team
We would like to warmly welcome two new teachers, Ewan Jackson (Guitar and Piano Tutor) and Ocea Ralph (Piano Tutor), to the Hummingbird Music Team.
Ewan joins us from BIMM in the UK. He has an established teaching and performing career in Australia and we are excited for him to meet all the musicians in our studio
Ocea is a Sydney Conservatorium of Music graduate who comes from a family of teachers, with a rich generational history in music and education. We are thrilled to have her join our team.
Staff Appointments
We are pleased to announce that Renee Stein will be joining the Principal Teaching Team this year. Renee has extensive experience in learning support specialising in neurodivergent learners. She has recently expanded her professional development into counselling and trauma-informed teaching, and we know you will greatly benefit from her expertise.
Lastly, with all the exciting new classes and projects in 2026 we’d like to welcome Natalie Baghoumian as our Administrative Assistant. Natalie will be in the studio part-time to greet you in the reception area and assist with lesson scheduling, parent communication, concerts, classes updates and other studio events.
Will I have the same teacher next year?
You’re very welcome to continue learning with the same teacher in 2026. However, if you would like to request a change, we are happy to support a a smooth learning transition. It is essential that you let us know your intentions by completing the 2026 enrolment form
How to communicate with the studio / teachers going forward
You can still reach out to us via the current email address you have been using. All lesson enquiries, support needs, class questions, and timetable changes can be directed there.
Parking, Drop-off and Access
Where’s the best place to park?
There is free short-term street parking directly in front of the new studio. If you’d like to stay a little longer or do some grocery shopping before or after your lesson, there is free 2-hour parking directly opposite the studio in the Cremorne Town Centre (see map)
Where’s the closest bus stop?
Public transport access is just as convenient at the new studio as it was at our previous location, we’re only a couple of stops down the road on the same bus line.

Military Rd opposite Holt St
How do I access the studio?
The studio is on the ground floor of the Baringa Building and has mostly street-level access, with just 2–3 descending steps. A ramp is available for wheelchair and pram access.
Communication and Updates
How will I get updates about the move?
For live updates on the move, you can follow Hummingbird Music on Instagram. All important information, including lesson updates and major announcements, will continue to be sent via email.
Who can I contact if I have questions?
Please continue to direct all enquiries to Julia Michaels via the admin email. Please note: the studio will be closed from 14 December 2025 to 3 January 2026.
Can I come see the new studio before lessons start?
We understand that changes in location may affect travel routines, so you are welcome to visit and familiarise yourself with the new studio before lesson commence next year. We are also hoping to hold an Open Day towards the end of January, keep an eye on your email for details.
